The updated Suzuki Gixxer is expected to launch in March 2019. Here is a complete list of what changes and upgrades will be done on the bike.
Last year, Suzuki confirmed that the Gixxer will receive a significant update in 2019. Based on our industry sources, we expect the updated naked bike to be launched by the end of this month.
The bike received a minor facelift last year, which gave some visual changes. Since the bike is already equipped with ABS, it complies with the upcoming safety regulations.
Suzuki Gixxer was launched back in 2014, and it single-handedly revived the business of the two-wheeler manufacturer in India. After a year, a fully faired version, Gixxer SF was also launched.

Primarily, we expect a complete change in the design. It will get revisions to the body parts to make it look even sportier. The current Gixxer looks a bit dull in comparison to TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Yamaha FZ V3.
It will also get new LED headlamps, split seats, new instrument cluster and revised tail light section. The overall design would not be changed much, but it will definitely look sportier than the current one.
Reports suggest that the suspension setup will also be tuned to offer better ride quality. However, we are sure that with the revised setup, the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer will maintain its sharp handling quality.

The powertrain of the bike will remain the same. It gets a 155cc air-cooled SOHC engine, that is tuned to deliver 14.8 BHP and 14 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
There are chances that the engine might get some retuning for better performance. As the deadline for BS-6 engines is in April 2020, Suzuki is unlikely to launch the updated Gixxer with compliant engines now.
With all these updates, we expect a minor rise in the prices. The prices would increase by around Rs 2000-3500, taking its top variant above Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom).
