The 2019 Maruti Wagon R currently does not offer a CNG variant in its model line-up however its main competitor Hyundai Santro does.
The 2019 Maruti Wagon R made its debut in India last month. The third generation iteration of this compact hatchback came with an all-new design, new features and a new HEARTECT platform. The number of standard safety features on this vehicle was also increased.
The 2019 Wagon R’s top-spec variant comes with a touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play, steering mounted audio controls, day and night IRVM, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, rear washer with wiper, front and rear defogger, anti-lock braking system, dual-airbags and electronic brake force distribution.

The engine specifications of the 2019 Maruti Wagon R were slightly altered. Lower variants continued to offer the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder unit. This engine is capable of churning out 67 BHP of power along with 90 Nm of peak torque. Higher spec variants are now offerred with the Swift’s 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder unit. This one is capable of producing 82 BHP of power along with 114 Nm of peak torque.
As standard, the Wagon R comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Select variants are also available with a 5-speed AMT unit. Currently, the prices of the Maruti Wagon R falls in-between the range of INR 4.19 lakh and INR 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the time of launch, there were expectations that Maruti will introduce a CNG variant of the Wagon R since its main competition, the Hyundai Santro also offers the same in its line-up. However, that did not happen.
Now, according to a recent report published in Gaadiwaadi.com, it is to be believed that the CNG variant of the Maruti Wagon R is all set to launch in India soon. And that it will be available only with the 1.0-litre engine and on the LX and the LXi trim levels. Prices for the same are likely to start from INR 4.84 lakhs (ex-showroom).
