This Service campaign will target a total of 3,757 units of Maruti Baleno’s sold in India during the period of Dec’ 6 2018 to Feb’ 4 2019.
Maruti Suzuki has announced a free-of-cost service campaign for the owners of the Baleno premium hatchback in India. This service campaign which is said not to be a recall is for inspecting and hence upgrading the software for the ABS actuator assembly of the Baleno. A total of 3,757 units of this hatchback will take part in this service campaign. Models which were manufactured between December 6, 2018, and February 4, 2019, will be a part of this campaign.
The ABS actuator is a hydraulic device which is in real-time electronic communication with the ECU of the vehicle. And hence is responsible for controlling the brakes under panic braking situations. Maruti Suzuki says since the said software upgrade is not a safety concern, this said campaign is not being termed as a recall. Considering the date of manufacturing of the affected cars, most of the units are likely to be the facelifted version.
