TVS Apache RTR 160 is the best selling sporty commuter bike in the 150-160cc segment. The recent inclusion of ABS will further increase its monthly sales.
TVS Motor Company has yet again achieved success with its popular Apache RTR 160. The sporty commuter retains its position as the best selling motorcycle in its segment.
For the month of January 2019, TVS sold 31,735 units of Apache RTR 160. For the month of December 2018, 26338 units were sold, which have now risen by nearly 20%.
Throughout the year, the bike’s sales figures have crossed 25,000 units monthly. RTR 160 is also among the best selling bikes in India, since a very long time. It is usually placed at 9th or 10th position in the list.

RTR 160 fits in the sporty commuter 150-160cc motorcycle segment. Its competitors include Yamaha FZ V3, Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar NS160.
All of its competitors are priced between Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 Lakh. Amongst them, the RTR 160 is the costliest one, followed by Yamaha FZ V3. The prices of Apache start from Rs 92,645 to Rs 98,644 (ex-showroom prices).
Recently, TVS updated the Apache RTR 160 with a single-channel ABS, ahead of the upcoming safety regulations. For braking purposes, the bike comes with front and rear disc brake with ABS.

Apache RTR 160 is powered by a 159.7cc oil-cooled 4-valve engine, that is able to produce 16.2 BHP and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The features list of the bike includes LED position headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, Remora racing tires, Electronic Fuel Injection and a double barrel exhaust system.
The bike uses telescopic forks at the front and SHOWA-tuned monoshocks at the back. The suspension setup has been done to offer the rider, a racing-type experience.

RTR 160 is available in three colour options to choose – Racing Red, Racing Black and Racing Blue.
