The Mahindra XUV 300 is going to get an AMT gearbox on its both engine option which will be replaced with a torque converter unit at a later stage.
The Mahindra XUV 300, which was launched in India last week is soon going to get an AMT gearbox added to its portfolio. Recent spy shots suggest that the launch is right around the corner. Certain media reports state that Mahindra can debut the XUV300 with an AMT transmission as early as next month. At the moment, this vehicle is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard across the range.

The turbocharged petrol engine is capable of churning out 110 BHP of power along with 200 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is good for 115 BHP along with 300 Nm of peak torque. The fuel efficiency figures for the petrol engine stand at 17 km/l while those of the diesel derivative stand at 20 km/l.
The Mahindra XUV 300 is also going to get an all-electric variant in the near future. The automaker has officially confirmed that we can expect the same to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2020.
The Mahindra XUV 300, falls in-between the price range of INR 7.9 lakh for the base petrol variant and INR 11.99 lakh for the top-spec diesel trim. These prices put it right in the middle of the stiff competition which includes the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.

Not only this, but the introduction of an optional variant, on the petrol as well as the diesel variant, put the Mahindra XUV 300 in fight against the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks.
