At the launch of Mahindra XUV300, the top officials confirmed that its all-electric version will debut by the second half of 2020.
Mahindra had confirmed that last year that they are planning a fully electric version of the XUV300. At the launch event, Pawan Goenka, MD of Mahindra and Mahindra, confirmed the launch for Second-Half 2020.
Pawan Goenka further stated that the Mahindra XUV300 EV is currently codenamed as S210. It is in the development process and will be the first next-gen product from the brand.
The EV will be available in two-battery pack options. One battery pack will be performance oriented and the other pack will be for daily commuting and further utility. The performance-oriented one will be equipped with a more powerful pack.

Mahindra XUV300 EV will be aimed towards the price-oriented customers as well as range-oriented customers. We can expect it to be a mass-market product, while keeping the price in check.
The electric motor and battery pack details are unknown as of yet. However, the official stated that it will be more powerful than the current 21 kWh pack used in Verito EV.
Design changes on the EV will include a closed front grille. As there is no engine beneat, air-cooling would not be required. To further distinguish itself, the EV will carry a small ‘+ME’ logo on the grille, for Mahindra Electric.

You can further expect new set of alloy wheels, refreshed colour options and some refreshed styling bits. The LED projector headlamps and connected LED DRLs will be retained in the EV too.
Meanwhile, Mahindra is also developing the KUV100 EV, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Although, it was speculated to launch in 2019 itself, there are no official statements about it.
We expect Mahindra to keep the prices around Rs 15 Lakhs or so. With this price range, the EV will be affordable and would not demand a sizeable hike over the conventionally powered version.

By 2020, many four-wheeler brands like Tata, Maruti Suzuki, Nissan and Hyundai are planning to debut their EVs in the Indian market.
