The Mahindra XUV 300 has finally made its debut in India at a starting price of INR 7.9 lakh. It competes against the likes of Vitara Brezza, Nexon & EcoSport.
Mahindra has today launched the highly awaited XUV 300 sub-4-meter compact SUV in the Indian market. It is going to retail in-between the price range of INR 7.9 lakh to INR 11.9 lakh (ex-showroom). With this, it is going to compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon. The pricing and the equipment list of the top-spec variant will enable it to also compete with the base and mid-spec variants of the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks.
The Mahindra XUV 300 is going to retail in India in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged unit. The same is an all-new engine and is capable of churning out 110 BHP along with 200 Nm of peak torque. Its diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit borrowed from the Marazzo MPV. This engine in the XUV300 will produce 115 BHP of power along with 300 Nm of peak torque.

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. There is no automatic transmission option available at the time of launch. However, there is going to be one, an AMT unit added to this SUV’s portfolio soon. The petrol engine of the Mahindra XUV 300 promises an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 17 km/l. While the diesel derivative of this vehicle promises a mileage figure of 20 km/l.

The XUV300 retails in India in a total of three different variants. These are the W4, W6 and the W8. In addition to these, there is a W8 (O) variant on offer as well. While the former three variants compete against the sub-4-meter SUVs, the top-spec W8 (O) take the battle to the likes of Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks. The same comes with features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a sunroof, front parking sensors, 7-airbags an 17-inch diamont cut alloy wheels.
