The best occasion to grab attention here in India is the Indian Auto Expo and the 2012 Auto Expo is to impress us yet again with a number of cars already waiting to enter the stage. Recently we had made a post on upcoming cars and bikes at the 2012 Auto Expo and we are sure that the next car will also make its way to the launch list.
Hyundai Avante or Hyundai Elantra is the one we are talking about and the recent spotting of the same assures us that the launch could take place soon. The Avante/Elantra was spotted at the Taj Mahal in Delhi and was heavily camouflaged.

This came as a complete surprise as the company’s facility is in Chennai and there were less chances of it being spotted here. But since the company’s corporate office is in Delhi, it could be conducting the early test stages for this car. The same also features Hyundai’s fluidic design language and looks very promising in terms of appeal and attraction.

The major is supposed the adopt the name Avante/Elantra for India as well since it would not like the Indian customers to relate the car to its not so successful predecessor launched a few years back. This strategy has also been followed for the Hyundai i45 or the Hyundai Sonata.

Avante will be priced around Rs.12 – Rs.14 Lakh making it fall in the segment above the Hyundai Verna Fluidic but below the upcoming Sonata/i45. The international model of the same is powered by a 1.6 Liter Gamma GDI petrol and a 1.6 Liter CRDI diesel motor.
It is also speculated that the manufacturer might share some of its major components with the Verna as it would help cut the costs and eventually price it aggressively against Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda CIvic.
