Reports suggest that Toyota is working on a compact SUV based on the Vitara Brezza. It will be launched sometime in the second half of this year.
Toyota, in partnership with Maruti Suzuki, introduced the Glanza hatchback. Seeing a decent start with rebadged products, Toyota has now confirmed that there will be more of such rebadged models coming up in the next couple of year.
And that, by the end of this year, Toyota is going to introduce its version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Further details are awaited, but we can expect a similar scenario just like what happened with Glanza. Basically, a few cosmetic differences.

Toyota’s version of the Maruti Brezza is going to arrive in the Indian market sometime closer to the festive season this year. Seems like Toyota was just waiting for Maruti to launch the facelifted Brezza so that they can start working on the new version.
In this exchange of vehicles, both the automaker will perform minor tweaks to the other automaker’s vehicle and hence sold them through their own dealership networks. The tweaks will include minor exterior cosmetic updates with the important mechanical bits remaining the same as before.
The Toyota SUV will continue with the same engine line-up that Brezza does. Recently, Maruti upgraded Vitara Brezza with a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The motor produces 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT.

Prices of Toyota SUV is going to fall in the same price range as that of the Brezza. Hence, expect them to be priced between Rs 6.5 Lakhs to Rs 10 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). It will compete with Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.
