Honda CB Shine and Shine SP drum brake variants have been updated with CBS. The prices for both the CBS variants have increased by Rs 600.
Honda CB Shine and Shine SP now comply with the upcoming safety regulations. The drum brake variants of both the models now get Combi Braking System (CBS).
Shine Drum CBS is priced at Rs 58,338 and Shine SP Drum CBS goes for Rs 64,098 (ex-showroom prices). The prices have been hiked by a mere Rs 600 for the both the bikes.
The disc brake CBS variants were available earlier, priced at Rs 62,998 and Rs 68,015 (ex-showroom). As per the upcoming safety regulations, all two-wheelers under 125cc must be equipped with CBS as standard fitment.

Mechanically, Honda CB Shine does not receive any further updates. Shine and Shine SP use the same 124cc engine that delivers 10.16 BHP and 10.30 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Honda CB Shine SP gets more styling cues like different alloy wheels, tank shrouds, sporty graphics and a digital-analogue meter. The regular Shine misses out on all of these features.
Both the bikes use telescopic suspension at the front and spring loaded hydraulic type at the back. Braking is handled with 130mm drum brakes on both the ends with an option of a 240mm disc at the front.

CB Shine is available in 6 metallic colour options – Black, Sunset Brown, Geny Grey, Imperial Red, Athletic Blue and Rebel Red.
Shine SP gets 5 different colour options with body graphics – Black, Athletic Blue, Imperial Red, Geny Grey and Pearl Siren Blue.
Honda CB Shine competes with the likes of Hero Super Splendor, Hero Glamour 125, Bajaj Discover 125 and Yamaha Saluto 125. It is one of the most premium bikes in this segment.
