The update will see the Maruti Alto 800 get a complete overhaul in terms of its exterior and interior design along with improved safety and equipment list.
With a top to bottom approach, Maruti Suzuki is currently working on updating its entire product portfolio in order to meet the approaching deadline for new crash test regulations which become applicable by the end of this year. The latest product to receive its complete generation update from the automaker’s portfolio was the WagonR hatchback. The next most important product after the same is quite obviously the two iterations of the Alto 800 i.e. the 800 and the K10.
The brand Alto has been India’s largest selling car since a very long time. Month after month, this entry-level hatchback has topped the charts with well over 20,000 units sold across the Indian heartland. Several other players have tried to dethrone the Alto from its position but in vain. With its humble looks and a decently spacious cabin along with a fuel-efficient and dependable engine, the Alto has rulled its segment since the very beginning.

One amongst these is confirmed to be the the Concept Future S based micro-SUV. The same is likely to make its debut sometime during the second half of this year. The second product in line, though not confirmed, is most-likely to be the next-generation Maruti Alto.
Details related to the new iteration of the Maruti Alto 800 are still under the wraps. However previous reports suggest that it is going to get a muscular design and a new 600cc petrol engine. Quite obviously the list of passive and active safety features will increase along with its equipment list. Prices will start from under INR 3 lakh and top-off at INR 5 lakh (ex-showroom).
