TVS Apache RR 310 has been in the market for a year now. TVS had set a target for RR 310 of 10,000 units a year. However, till now, it has only made 5,000 units.
KTM Duke 390 and TVS Apache RR 310 are two popular bikes in the 300-400cc segment. This particular segment consists of entry-level premium motorcycles.
At its launch in 2017, TVS set a target of 10,000 units for Apache RR 310. Since then, it has touched 5000 units, the half of its original target. On the other hand, a much costlier Duke 390 is selling more.
The sales figure of KTM Duke 390 for November 2018 stood at 239 units and that of Apache RR 310 stood at 132 units. Similarly, for October 2018, the figure stood at 553 units and Apache RR 310 at 425 units.

The monthly average for Apache stands at a mere 400 units a month. Even the monthly average sales of BMW G 310 R is nearing 400 units. Duke 390 goes up to nearly 450-500 units a month.
KTM first launched Duke 200 and then Duke 390 in India. The 373cc Duke was one of the earliest entry-level premium motorcycles. It is somewhat affordable and possesses immense power and riding ability.
TVS Apache RR 310 on the other hand, is a fully-faired sportsbike. It gets the race-set clip-on handlebars and the foot pegs. With a powerful 313cc engine, it is the most powerful TVS bike.

TVS-BMW Motorrad have used the RR 310’s engine in BMW G 310 R and GS. All the three bikes are built at TVS’s plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Both the bikes share the engine and some other cycle parts too.
Apache gets a 313cc liquid cooled reverse inclined engine produces 34 BHP and 27.3 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with wet multi-plate clutch.
KTM Duke 390 comes with a 373cc liquid-cooled FI engine that produces 43 BHP and 37 Nm of peak torque. Duke also comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with PASC Anti-hopping clutch.

TVS Apache RR 310 goes for Rs 2.23 Lakhs. Duke 390 is priced at Rs 2.40 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).
