The Kia SP Concept based SUV is going to launch in India with petrol as well as diesel engine derivatives and is going to have a host of features onboard.
Kia SP Concept based SUV, set to compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks, is going to launch in India sometime during the second half of 2019. This new compact SUV is based on the same platform as that of the Hyundai Creta and is expected to be priced in-between the range of INR 10 lakh to INR 16 lakh, the exact segment in which the latter falls in. The SP Concept based SUV is going to mark the arrival of Kia Motors in India.
After the debut of their first product, the Hyundai owned South Korean automaker has announced, that it will introduce one new vehicle in our country ever 6 months for the next 3 years. Kia is quite confident in its future line-up in India and aims at achieving an annuals sales figure of 300,000 units.

The Kia SP Concept based SUV is going, right from its launch, is going to come in BS-VI petrol and diesel engines. Though the exact specifications related to these engines are not confirmed as of yet, we can say for sure that they are going to be 1.5-litre units each. In fact, these engines will eventually make their way under the hood of the Hyundai Creta when the same is also upgraded to meet the upcoming emission regulation in April 2020.

The Kia SP Concept SUV, when it arrives in the market, will have to face competition for some well-established players the likes of which include the Hyundai Creta and the soon to be launched Nissan kicks. Along with this, other players in the segment also includes the likes of Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster as well as the Renault Captur. Hence, in order to make its mark, Kia’s offering is going to come with a premium cabin that will offer a host of features in its kitty, some of which are going to be segment first offerings.
For instance, the SP Concept SUV is going to come with electrically operated and ventilated driver’s seat, a 360-degree surround view camera, ambient lighting, head-up display, a fully-digital instrument cluster among other features.
