Maruti Suzuki is ready to launch one of its best selling hatchbacks in January 2019. Maruti WagonR will get a new-generation and lots of feature additions. Here are the first spy pics of the tall-boy hatchback.
2019 Maruti WagonR was earlier spotted during a TVC shoot. Now, Gaadiwaadi has released fresh set of spy images. In these spy pics, we get a clear idea of how the hatchback will look.
Earlier, it was speculated that the new WagonR will look identical to the Japanese version. However, based on the spy pics, we can tell that the design is completely new. The Japanese-spec WagonR are in India for Electric vehicle testing and are not the new WagonR mules.

The 2019 Maruti WagonR gets many modern touches like a newly designed front fascia, angular headlamp cluster, refreshed front bumper with air-intakes with new fog lamp housing. From the front, the styling has been fully revamped to distinct it from the current model.
From the side, similarities with Ignis can be felt. The wing mirrors and the smaller window setup are similar to that on Ignis.
From the rear, the bonnet seems uplifted along with new and tall tail lamp cluster. The entire C-Pillar has been redesigned, but portrays the same tall-boy appearance. The high-end variants could sport a roof spoiler with integrated stop lamps.
The interiors of the 2019 Maruti WagonR will also see a major revamp. Expect a new dashboard layout with better upholstery seats.

Another report from Team-BHP states that the high-end ZXi variant might get a 1.2 Litre petrol engine. Most likely, this engine will come on the AGS variant. The 1.2 Litre engine comes in Maruti Swift, Ignis and Baleno.
The 1.2 Litre engine produces 82 BHP and 113 Nm of peak torque. The lower LXi and VXi variants will continue with the same 1.0 Litre 3-cylinder engine. The 1-litre engine produces 69 BHP and 99 Nm of peak torque.
The 2019 Maruti WagonR will come with petrol, CNG and LPG options. The current one does not offer LPG fuel option. CNG and LPG options will most likely debut at the launch itself.
Feature additions onboard will include a new touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Electric ORVMs, a revised instrument cluster, steering-mounted audio and telephony controls.
Safety features will include ABS, dual-airbags, seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and speed alert system as standard fitments. Top-end variants will include a rear-parking camera as well.
