Aprilia Comfort, a family-based scooter is under development. It will get the same 125cc engine that comes in SR125. The launch is expected by August 2019.
Piaggio is planning to launch a family scooter under the Aprilia brand name. Reportedly named as Aprilia Comfort, it is under development. The launch timeline is not confirmed, but we expect it to be around August 2019.
Bikewale reports that Aprilia Comfort will be a family based-scooter, rather than its aggressive SR series. The new scooter will get a plain and non-aggressive design, which appeals to the family buyers.
The main focus of the brand is to make this scooter much comfortable, than the SR scooters. So, there are chances of a different suspension setup or difference of travel between both the scooters.

Other things on the Aprilia Comfort will include a large seat, a big floor board, plenty of storage capacity and easy handling. These highlights go well in hand with the name of the scooter.
The engine aboard the scooter will be borrowed from SR 125. So, it gets the same 125cc air-cooled engine that produces 9.4 BHP and 9.9 Nm of peak torque.
Other things like the switchgear, instrument cluster and grab rail will be the same as that on SR 125.
The biggest difference will be the styling and the purpose of the scooter. Aprilia SR 125 is a pure racing scooter with sporty graphics and racy alloy wheels.

For suspension purposes, it might use telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock absorbers at the back, but with increased travel. A disc brake at the front and a rear drum brake with CBS will form the braking part.
As per the upcoming safety norms, two-wheelers of 125cc and below must be equipped with Centralized Braking System (CBS).
Estimated mileage of the scooter should be around 40 kmpl on an average. SR 125 gives the same mileage figure.
The expected price of Aprilia Comfort should be around Rs 60,000. Most of the family scooters are priced cheaper than the premium ones. So, at this price, it will be just amongst the competition.

Competitors of the scooter would include Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and Hero Destini 125. However, the pricing range might also put it up in competition with TVS Ntorq, Suzuki Burgman Street and Honda Grazia.
