Hayabusa fails to meet the upcoming Euro 4 emission regulations. The engine fails to meet the specified pollution limit. The regulations came in 2016, but the automakers were given a grace period of 2 years to sell off the remaining stock.
In the Indian market, the litre-class motorcycle will continue to retail till April 2020. That’s when the BS-6 emission norms come into effect. The news has not been confirmed, but it is most likely to happen.
Suzuki Hayabusa comes with a 1340cc in-line 4 cylinder engine that produces 197 BHP @ 9,500 RPM and 155 Nm of peak torque @ 7,200 RPM. The engine remains the same since 1998, of course with minor revisions.
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with Suzuki Drive selector. With this system, the bike delivers specified torque as per the requirement.
