Mahindra has already announced that the XUV300 is going to come to India in both petrol as well as diesel guises. That said, the company is yet to reveal the exact specifications for these powertrains. We expect the the petrol derivative of the Mahindra XUV300 is going to get an all-new, 1.2-litre, turbocharged unit. While there is a strong reason to believe that the diesel derivative is going to be a 1.5-litre unit. The latter will be the same engine which made its debut in India with the Mahindra Marazzo.
Mahindra has announced that at the time of the launch in February, the XUV300 will retail with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard across the range. There are no plans to introduce an automatic gearbox in this compact SUV’s model line-up for now. With its price range, there are chances that the Mahindra XUV300 might also compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta.

As is the case with the engine specifications of the Mahindra XUV300, details regarding its mileage figures are still under the wraps. However, we can expect a fuel-efficiency figure of around 12-14 km/l from the petrol derivative and around 18-19 km/l from the diesel derivative.
With buyers now lurking towards vehicles which offer premium features, Mahindra has made sure that it loads up the XUV300 with a plethora of them. Though the complete variant wise feature list is still under the wraps, the automaker did reveal a couple of major highlights during the name announcement. For instance, the XUV300 is going to come with a segment first dual-zone climate control, 7-airbags and rear disk brakes.

Other features will include LED projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail-lamps, an electric sunroof, automatic headlamps, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers to name a few. Also, in terms of safety, we expect this compact SUV to feature dual-airbags as standard along with ABS and EBD and rear parking sensors.

After the launch of the Mahindra XUV300 in February, the homegrown automaker is going to put a stop at all its upcoming new model launches till April 2020 when the BS-VI emission norms kick-in. That said, it will continue to launch updates for its existing model. These will include the launch of the facelift TUV300 and the generation update for the Scorpio.
