Reportedly, a new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is under development. Most likely, the 249cc engine will be borrowed from KTM Duke 250.
Bajaj Auto is planning to expand its Pulsar range with a more powerful bike. As of now, its most powerful Pulsar is 220F, followed by NS200 and RS200.
Zigwheels reports that a new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is under development. After gaining much success, it plans to focus on the premium motorcycle segment. For that, it is also launching a facelift to the Dominar 400 in 2019.
The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is in its initial stages and is most likely to launch in India in 2020. The new bike is most likely to join the ‘Naked Sport (NS)’ club, being placed over Pulsar NS200.

Report also states that the new bike might borrow its engine from Duke 250. Bajaj has done the same thing with Dominar, where it has borrowed from Duke 390. Even NS200 got a retuned engine from KTM Duke 200.
Duke 250 gets a 249cc liquid-cooled engine that puts out 30 BHP and 24 Nm of torque. Bajaj Pulsar 250 might offer lesser power figures, around 26 BHP and 23 Nm of torque. The same situation is seen in Dominar 400 and Duke 390.

No further details are known about this product. We expect it to look similar to NS200. Features onboard can include dual-channel ABS, LED headlamps and a new digital instrument cluster. Currently, NS200 uses the digi-analogue display.

The mechanicals might also be same as that on Pulsar NS200. The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 might continue with the conventional forks at the front and adjustable shock absorbers at the back. Most likely, front and rear disc brake with dual-ABS would be standard fitment.
The price expectations for Pulsar 250 is between Rs 1.3 Lakhs to Rs 1.5 Lakhs. Even at this price, it will undercut Duke 250. It will also compete with the likes of Yamaha FZ25.
Many two-wheeler brands are planning to make a move on the entry-level premium segment. This particular segment offers lifestyle motorcycles with some commuter values.
Hero Motocorp put Xtreme 200R and has Xpulse 200 and 200T lined up. Suzuki is planning to launch a 250cc Gixxer. Likewise, Honda and Yamaha are also planning their moves for this particular segment.

Heavyweights like Kawasaki, BMW Motorrad, Harley Davidson and Triumph are also a part of this entry-level motorcycle segment. Kawasaki and BMW have their 300cc bikes. HD and Triumph are planning to launch new bikes between 250-500cc.
