Mahindra XUV 300 is the new upcoming compact SUV. It is most likely to launch in India by February 2019. The C-SUV is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli SUV.
Finally, the name of Mahindra‘s another awaited product has been revealed. This time too, it retains the alphanumeric name – Mahindra XUV 300.
The automaker has revealed its name officially at an event in Mumbai. It resembles the Cheetah design that XUV 500 adapts, that’s why the name XUV 3OO.
Mahindra XUV 300 is scheduled to launch in February 2019. Earlier, it was speculated to launch in October-November this year. However, Mahindra first launched Marazzo MPV, followed by Alturas premium 7-seater SUV.

XUV 3OO is based on the platform of Ssangyong Tivoli. As a result, you can see striking similarities between both the SUVs. Tivoli is available in other Asian markets and is quite popular in the global markets.
The new compact SUV will use the new 1.5 Litre diesel engine that came in Marazzo MPV. The engine produces 123 BHP and 300 Nm, making it one of the most powerful in its segment.
For transmission purposes, it gets a 6-speed manual on offer first. No Automatic unit is being offered as of now.
Mahindra XUV 300 will also get the petrol engine aboard. The specifications of that are not known as of now, but we believe it will be a 1.2 Litre petrol unit. Both the engines will be BS-4 compliant.
Mahindra has also revealed that they are working on an all-electric version of XUV 3OO. They have not revealed the launch timeline for the same.

Features onboard will include electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, Touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Rear AC vents and much more.
Just ahead of the launch, the interiors of Mahindra XUV 300 were leaked. Based on that, we get to know that even from the inside, it copies Ssangyong Tivoli. It gets dual-tone black and beige interiors combined with silver accents across different parts of the cabin.
At the backside, three headrests were spotted. A centre armrest was also spotted on the back seat as well as for the driver. The leaked photo does not display the rear AC vents.
Safety features onboard will include disc brakes on four wheels, ABS, Rear Parking sensors, EBD with Brake assist and dual front airbags as standard fitment. The higher-end variants will offer segment-first 7-airbags and a rear view parking camera.

Most likely, the prices of Mahindra XUV 300 will start off at Rs 7 Lakhs onwards. The top-end variant would cross Rs 10 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). Mahindra plans to aggressively place it in this segment by offering many segment first features.
XUV 300 will go against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. The Mahindra SUV could also compete with some variants of Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks.
