Skoda Rapid – Fabia Based Sedan Detailed Specifications & Features

Skoda is eagerly waiting for 16th November, which is the date for the launch of Skoda Fabia based sedan, Skoda Rapid. Since Skoda is a part of Volkswagen Group, the Rapid is supposed to be based on Volkswagen Vento’s platform though it sports Fabia’s front.

For the premium car manufacturer this would be its first product in the C segment and definitely one that could pull volumes. The reason lies in the pricing of the car which is said to be fall between Nissan Sunny and Volkswagen Vento. In this post we will talk about the car both technically and aesthetically.

Rapid is no exceptionally beautiful car and is a typical Fabia with an extended rear resembling that of Vento. The engineers have shown least concern on giving it a different appearance and therefore there is nothing striking about the same.

Having said that it is not striking enough does not mean that the engineering isn’t praiseworthy. The design incorporation, Vento’s looks in Fabia, has been carried out with utmost precision and the quality of the built speaks for itself. The interiors also resemble Vento’s inside but obviously with a Skoda badge and steering wheel.

A BS IV compliant 4 Cylinder, 1.6 Liter, in-line, 16 V DOHC, MPFI petrol engine producing 105 BHP @ 5250 RPM of max power and 153 Nm @ 3800 RPM of peak torque.
A BS IV compliant 4 Cylinder, 1.6 Liter 16 V DOHC high pressure CRDI direct injection turbocharged diesel engine producing 105 BHP @ 4400 RPM of max power and peak torque of 250 Nm @ 1500-2500 RPM.
