Joining the bandwagon of other Indian automobile manufacturers, Tata Motors has also announced that they will increase the prices of their entire passenger vehicle portfolio starting January 2019.
The homegrown automaker announced that it will increase the prices of its PV portfolio by up to INR 40,000. This prices increase will vary depending upon the variant chosen and the city in which the vehicle is being bought in.
Tata Motors has said that the increase in prices for its passenger vehicle portfolio comes as a result of rising input costs. Furthermore, the decision was also taken considering the continuous increase in fuel prices.
Tata Motors is not the only major OEM which has announced a prices in starting January 2019. Conglomerates like Maruti Suzuki, Skoda, Renault, Toyota and several others made similar announcement this month.
The increase in prices is not the only reason for which Tata Motors is going to be in the news during the coming months. The homegrown automaker is getting ready to launch its all-new offering in the premium utility segment during the month of January 2019.

Yes, the much awaited Tata Harrier is all set to make its official debut in India next month. The automaker has already revealed the vehicle completely. With its media rides done and dusted, Tata will begin its first public viewing starting 18th December.
The Tata Harrier is based on the automaker’s all-new Omega platform. These underpinnings have been developed from the immensely capable D8 platform which also underpins the Land Rover Discovery.
At the time of launch, the Harrier is going to be offered with just a diesel engine in its portfolio. This unit has been sourced from Fiat and is their 2.0-litre Multi-jet unit which also does its duty on Harrier competitor, the Jeep Compass.

That said, for the Harrier, Tata Motors has reduced the power output to 140 BHP, in comparison to the 170 BHP that you get from the compass. However, the torque figures stands the same at 350 Nm. This is probably because of the fact that the Harrier is only available with a front wheel drive configuration.
Other than the Harrier, Tata Motors has several other new models lined up for a launch in India. The second most important produc from the homegrown automaker is going to be an all-new premium hatchback. Based on the 45X concept, this vehicle is likely to make its debut in India sometime during the second half of 2019.
