Jawa Perak is a custom factory-made Bobber motorcycle. Its prices have been revealed but will be launch by mid-2019. It is the cheapest Bobber motorcycle in India.
Jawa Motorcycles has introduced 3 new models in India. The lineup includes Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. While Perak will be available later in the market, the other two models are now available at dealerships.
Jawa Perak is a factory made custom Bobber, one of a kind in India. Bobbers are usually quite expensive, however, this one is the cheapest of them all. In India, some of the Bobbers are priced around Rs 20 Lakhs or so.
The new Perak is actually in the remembrance of the original Perak. The old one was a 250cc Bobber with a single seat and a rather huge frame. However, the new one is a modern-day Bobber with a mean and contrasting black colour.
The bookings for Jawa Motorcycles have already begun. The dealership level bookings and customer test rides are all set to begin from December 15. Online bookings are going on for a booking amount of Rs 5,000.

Jawa Perak – Design
Bobber Motorcycles are quite famous in the States and are used as touring motorcycles. These bikes come with a single seat, half hanging in the air and silhouette of a mean machine.
The trend of Bobber Motorcycles started back in the early 1930s when the automakers removed excess bodywork from the regular cruisers and made it more stylish. Bobber is different from a Chopper, as choppers get the latest features and also get modern touches.
Well, Perak does give you the exact same feeling. Despite having a sense of modern design work, Classic Legends has given it a modern-retro feel. It comes with the retro-styled headlamp cowl, round headlamps, single-pod instrument cluster, black spoke wheels, and a thin exhaust muffler.
Unlike the Jawa, Perak gives a more modern touch rather than a retro feeling. Still, it does retain some of the retro finishes, making it look like a Classic motorcycle.
Jawa Perak – Engine Specifications
Engine | 332cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder |
Power | 30 BHP |
Torque | 31 Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed manual |
Jawa Perak gets a more powerful engine than the other two Jawa Motorcycles. It gets a 332cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, that is newly developed with the help of Mahindra.
The engine produces 30 BHP and 31 Nm of peak torque. The power figures are slightly higher than the other two motorcycles. The engine pairs up with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
If you see, the power figures are even better than Royal Enfield Classic 350. RE 350 uses the 346cc air-cooled engine that produces 20 BHP and 28 Nm of peak torque. It comes with a 5-speed gearbox.
Jawa Perak – Mileage
Mileage (EST) | 35 kmpl |
As per our expectations, Perak will deliver a mileage figure of around 35 kmpl. For a bike of over 300cc, the mileage figure stands right. Combined with a fuel capacity of 14 Litres, it should give a riding range of around 500 kms on full tank.

Jawa Perak – Competition
As of now, Jawa Perak faces no direct competition. There are 2-3 Bobbers in India, which are priced around Rs 10 Lakhs or so. In this price range, there are none.
However, it faces indirect competition from Royal Enfield Classic 350, Thunderbird 350, Mahindra Mojo UT 300 and Bajaj Dominar 400. All these motorcycles come in a similar price range of under Rs 2 Lakhs.
Out of these motorcycles, the best sellers include Royal Enfield motorcycles. Ideally, like in the old times, both the brands would compete with each other. Even now, Jawa Motorcycles will go against Royal Enfield motorcycles.
Royal Enfield has mainly achieved growth because of its retro feel and the loud exhaust note, which amuses many. It is amongst the top selling motorcycles of the country. However, Jawa was a star at its time and it ruled the Indian roads back that time. So, now the competition gets tough with age-old rivals competing again.
