Mahindra XUV 300 (Mahindra S201) is most likely to launch in early 2019, before April. The compact SUV will take on the likes of Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
Mahindra Inferno is launching next month in India. The name is not official yet, but the Inferno trademark has been leaked, which was registered by Mahindra. After the Inferno, Mahindra is going to launch its new compact SUV. Compact SUV segment is one of the fastest growing segments in India. To make the maximum benefit of this, Mahindra might equip the XUV 300 with many segment first features. The compact SUV will go on to take on EcoSport, Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. The features highlights of the Mahindra XUV 300 will mostly include a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen, cruise control and dual-zone climate control. There are chances that the top variant might get Auto LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs and front and rear fog lamps.

The Mahindra XUV 300 (Mahindra S201) will mostly come with Marazzo’s 1.5 Litre diesel engine. Online reports say that it will also get a new 1.2 Litre Turbo petrol engine. The diesel engine puts out 123 BHP and 300 Nm torque. If this engine comes in the XUV 300, it will be the most powerful compact SUV.
For transmission, the Mahindra XUV 300 is expected to come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Unlike Marazzo, it is likely to get an AMT variant at the time of launch. All three of its rivals get Automatic gearboxes.

Along with these, it will also get some segment first safety features as well. The Mahindra XUV 300 will be equipped with four disc brakes, which is a segment first. Standard safety features will include dual-front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, EBD and ESP. The top-end variants could get a rear parking camera, 6 airbags and ISOFIX. Nexon and Brezza offer two airbags in the top-end variant also.
Lastly, the expected price of the Mahindra XUV 300 (Mahindra S201) is a bit on the higher compact SUV side. The starting price might be a bit costlier than that of its rivals. So expect it to start off at Rs 7 Lakhs onwards. The top-end price might end at Rs 11 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).

The Mahindra Inferno is launching on 19th November. It is a 7-seater SUV that goes on to compete Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. In Mahindra’s lineup, Inferno will be placed above XUV 500. The prices of Inferno will undercut the prices of Fortuner and Endeavour.
