After several months of spying, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP have been launched in India. Both the cars get a more powerful 1.2 Litre Turbocharged petrol engine and visual upgrades as well.
Tata Tiago and Tigor get new hot versions in the lineup. The Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP were spied much often and finally, here they are. Both the concept cars were showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. Both the cars are basically performance versions of Tiago and Tigor. Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP receive a new engine, some visual upgrades and minor feature additions as well. Since both are based on the top-end trims, they come in only 1 variant. The Tiago JTP is priced at Rs 6.39 Lakhs and the Tigor JTP goes for Rs 7.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The new engine onboard the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP is borrowed from Nexon. Both the hot cars get a 1.2 Litre Turbocharged petrol engine. It puts out 112 BHP and 150 Nm of torque on tap. It puts 2 BHP more than the Nexon too! Tata pairs up these cars with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Tiago sprints from 0-100 km/hr in 9.95 seconds and the Tigor takes 10.83 seconds for the same.

There are some other mechanical changes as well. The manual gearbox has been optimized for better gear shifting. Also, the suspension has been tweaked along with a decreased ride height of 4 mm. For better performance, Tata offers ‘Sport’ and ‘City’ modes on the Tiago and Tigor instead of Eco and City modes.
Visual upgrades include a slightly tweaked bumper, a honeycomb grille below the number plate, dual barrel projector headlamps and air intake on the bonnet. A new and wider set of 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are also offered. On the rear side, they get a sporty rear spoiler, twin barrel exhaust with sporty exhaust note, and another honeycomb grille. A contrasting black roof is also offered along.

Inside the cabin, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP get all-black interiors with red double stitching on the seat. Red inserts over the AC vents, aluminium pedals and premium leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching add up more to the sporty looks. Both the cars look fiery hot and so interesting than their normal variants.
The feature addition includes a 5” touchscreen infotainment system by Harman Kardon. Rest of the features are carried over the from the top end trims of Tiago and Tigor. Tigor JTP gets additional features like a rear parking assist with a rearview camera and 3D navigation.

As of now, Tigor JTP does not face any competition. There is no hot-sedan in this range. But the Tiago JTP gets competition from Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. Tata Tiago JTP is the cheapest hot-hatchback in India.
