The 2018 Tata Tigor facelift has been launched today in India. Its prices fall in the range of INR 5.20 lakhs to INR 7.38 lakhs (ex-showroom). Here is everything you need to know about this compact sedan.
Tata Motors has today launched the mid-cycle update for the Tigor compact sedan in India. It retails at a price of INR 5.20 lakhs to INR 7.38 lakhs (ex-showroom). As before, it continues to compete with the likes of Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and the Volkswagen Ameo.
With this facelift, the Tata Tigor gets several aesthetic tweaks. That said, just as with every other mid-cycle update, the basic design silhouette remains the same. Up-front, it continues to come with Tata’s family grille. This is flanked at the edges by the wraparound headlamps which retain their earlier shape. However, their internals has been tweaked. It now offers a smart dual barrel projector layout.
Other than this, the Tata Tigor facelift also comes with slight alterations on the front bumper as well. These give the compact sedan a fresher look. The side profile remains exactly the same as before. Tata has even retained the design for the alloy wheels. Towards the back, the overall design of the compact sedan is the same as before. The design for the tail-lamps, just like the headlamps, features a new look. It now gets a clear glass design with new internals.

Inside the cabin, the 2018 Tata Tigor Facelift retains the current model’s parent layout. The major difference one is going to observe is in the centre console. Here you get an all-new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes as standard with Apple Car Play. Android Auto connectivity is going to come at a later stage. Other than this, this compact sedan continues to offer the same cabin layout as before.
In terms of its feature list, it still gets automatic climate control, steering mounted audio and telephony controls, electric ORVMs, electric windows among other features. In terms of safety, the Tata Tigor Facelift gets dual-airbags along with ABS and EBD as standard fitments. With this mid-cycle update, Tata Motors has introduced an all-new ZX+ trim for the Tigor.

With this mid-cycle update, there has been no change in the engine specifications of this vehicle. It continues to come with the same petrol and diesel engine line-up. The petrol derivative gets a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotron engine. This motor is capable of churning out 84 BHP along with 114 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the diesel derivative still comes with the 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotorq engine. This oil-burner is capable of producing 169 BHP along with 140 Nm of peak torque. As standard, both the engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, with this update, the 2018 Tata Tigor Facelift now gets an AMT gearbox on both engines as well.

As mentioned, the prices for the Tata Tigor Facelift fall in the range of INR 5.20 lakhs to INR 7.38 lakhs (ex-showroom). With this, it competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and the Hyundai Xcent.
