On October 11, 2011, Mercedes Benz India officially launched the phase one of their official car lease program in India called the Star Lease. Car Leasing provides self-employed individuals and employees to lease a car for long term (1 to 3 years) instead of buying a new luxury car. As per the calculations including the ownership, maintenance, depreciation and tax implications as per Indian laws, leasing comes out to be a better alternative than buying a luxury car (if it is meant to be sold off and upgraded at the end of 3 years period). Keeping their customers in mind, Mercedes is the first to give this lease option for luxury cars in India. Following the suit is BMW which may soon announce a similar kind of leasing plan to their customers in India for having more reach and customers in Indian market.
In a press conference, Dr.Andreas Schaaf, President BMW India revealed that they are looking forward to launch a lease plan in India. There is no timeline of the launch of BMW Luxury car Lease plan in India, but we expect that BMW should come up with the same in coming 6 months or so. We are keeping an eye on the same and will update you when more details emerge. Stay tuned to us by liking our official Facebook Page and sign up for our free email newsletter.
