Upcoming Volkswagen T-Cross SUV is set to be unveiled globally next month. It is going to be unveiled across three locations – Germany, Brazil, and Chile. The compact SUV is going to launch in India in the first half of 2019.
The upcoming Volkswagen T-Cross Compact SUV is all set to be unveiled globally in October 2018. Volkswagen’s smallest SUV is going to unveiled across three locations -Germany, Brazil, and Chile. Following this, it will be showcased at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China in November. The T-Cross will squarely rival against the likes of Hyundai Creta. The compact SUV is expected to launch in India in mid-2019.
Recently, the sketches of the T-Cross have teased ahead of the world premiere. The T-Cross gets similar design cues compared to the Breeze Concept, with its traditional bold signature logo, a revised front grille, and sleeker headlamps.

In the interiors, we expect it to be more spacious. Like other Volkswagen cars, it will have plush interiors, high-quality seat stitching and a plethora of convenience options.
The Volkswagen T-Cross will be based on the MQB AO platform, which comes in the latest Volkswagen Polo. Reports say that the platform will be revised for the T-Cross. However, the dimensions of the SUV will remain the same as the global-spec version.
The Volkswagen SUV is most likely to use the locally manufactured 1.0 Litre Turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.5 Litre TDI diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 112 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 89 BHP of power and 230 Nm of torque.

Both the engines will come with options of a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed DSG unit. The mileage expected on the petrol engine is around 12 kmpl and that on diesel is around 22 kmpl.
Most likely it going to have premium features like LED headlamps, LED DRLs, an 8-inch Touchscreen infotainment system, Multi-functional steering wheel, Active Cockpit Display, an electric sunroof, cruise control, and much more options.
Safety features will include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, and ISOFIX as standard fitments. The global-spec versions will get ESP, Hill Assist and Traction Control as premium safety features. Mostly, the Indian version of the Volkswagen T-Cross will also get these features.

Lastly, the expected prices for the T-Cross range from Rs 9.5 Lakhs up to Rs 14 Lakhs. At these prices, it will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Nissan Kicks. For a better competition, it needs to undercut the price of Creta.
