Tata Tiago has outsold the Renault Kwid, its prime competitor. It has achieved a record-breaking sales figure of 9277 units compared to 5541 units of Kwid. Tiago is one of the most popular entry-level hatchbacks in India.
Tata Tiago has achieved its highest sales figure record of 9277 units in the month of August 2018. The entry-level hatchback also outsells its main rival, Renault Kwid. Amongst all the variants, the top-end XZ variant is the most sold variant. The petrol variant has contributed to over 80% of the total sales last month. Also, more than 50% of the buyers are below 35 years of age. This indicates its popularity amongst the younger generation. The Tata Tiago starts from Rs 3.39 Lakhs and goes up to Rs 6.04 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Tata Tiago comes with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 84 BHP of power and 114 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 70 BHP of torque and 140 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optional AMT.

The mileage estimated on the petrol variant is around 23 kmpl and on the diesel variant is around 27 kmpl. These figures are the highest in its segment.
The Tata Tiago comes with features such as a Connect Next Infotainment system, Turn-by-turn navigation app, 22 utility spaces, MID, Height Adjustable Driver Seat, and Different driving modes-Sport, Eco and City. It also gets cooled glove box, steering with tilt adjustment, Steering mounted audio and phone controls and ORVMs with LED turn indicators.
The safety features onboard the Tiago include an engine immobilizer, driver and co-driver airbags, follow-me-home lamps, Rear Parking Sensors, Day and Night IRVM, ABS with EBD and corner stability control and front fog lamps.

Recently, Tata launched the Tiago NRG. It is a cross-hatch based on the top-end XZ trim of Tiago. It gets increased ground clearance, some cosmetic upgrades, and some feature upgrades as well. The NRG petrol variant comes at a price of Rs 5.49 Lakhs and the diesel one goes for Rs 6.31 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Commenting on this achievement, Mr. S. N. We are confident that with the introduction of newer models such as the recently-launched Tiago NRG, the brand will continue to thrive in the foreseeable future.”
