Hyundai has already started planning on the Hyundai Tucson 7-seater. Expected to globally launch in 2021, the SUV will grow in wheelbase, length, and width. In India, it will only launch as a 7-seater SUV.
Hyundai currently has 2 SUVs in the lineup and you know which one is the best performer. Second in line is the Tucson. The Hyundai Tucson is an average performer, despite Hyundai having all of its other launches as a pure hit. The Tucson was launched in 2016 and is reportedly going to get a facelift next year. Now, latest reports from Autocar India say that all-new Hyundai Tucson 7-seater variant is going to launch in India. It will replace the current 5-seater in India.

But, that’s not all!
The Tucson 7-seater will turn bigger in size with an increased wheelbase, length and cabin space.
There is one negative point.
Now the Tucson goes up to Rs 25 Lakhs. With the 7-seater, the prices might rocket up to Rs 28 Lakhs, easily. Then, it will have to compete with the Fortuner and Endeavour. However, its biggest rival will be in the form of the upcoming Honda CR-V.

You might wonder why CR-V and not Fortuner.
The current CR-V is a 5-seater SUV and goes hand-in-hand with the current gen Tucson. In October, the 2018 Honda CR-V is launching which gets a 7-seater layout. So naturally, Tucson 7-seater will go against the CR-V only. Also, both are sophisticated SUVs and lack that ruggedness that Fortuner and Endeavour offer. Both can be called as soft-roaders.
What else will come with the upcoming Hyundai Tucson?
The 2021 Tucson will most likely get captain seats in the second row. This layout is mostly offered in 7-seater cars. Also, along with this, it will receive many upgrades. It includes advanced telematics, wireless charging, heads-up display, and more such futuristic features.

However, another important things that it gets, are the BS-VI diesel and petrol engines.
Yes, it will come with BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines. Currently, it comes with a 2.0 Litre MPi petrol engine and 2.0 CRDi diesel engine. The petrol engine produces around 154 BHP of power and 192 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces around 184 BHP of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The BS-VI engines might continue with the 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed AMT. Both the petrol and diesel engines get AMT and manual options. Also, the Hyundai Tucson uses AWD system.

Hyundai says that SUVs priced above Rs 20 lakhs should be 7-seater, for an ideal demand. Indian market will only get the 7-seater variant in 2021. The global markets could get both as an option. If the 7-seater variant comes, there might not be any need to launch the Hyundai Santa Fe, which used to cost around Rs 30 Lakhs.
