Tata is going to launch the all-new Tata Harrier in the early months of 2019. Recently, a photo was leaked which said that Harrier will lead the Mumbai Marathon in January 2019. Amidst all leaked photos and specifications, Tata has released an official video of the platform used in Tata Harrier. In this video, it explains about the Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture (OMEGA) platform, which will come under this SUV. The OMEGA platform is basically based on the D8 platform of Jaguar Land Rover. The Harrier is going to compete with the likes of Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV 500. The expected price is around 14 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs.

The OMEGA Arc platform comes from the JLR D8 platform. This platform is used in SUVs such as Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar E-Pace and Range Rover Evoque. Tata uses cheaper and local materials and components to turn the D8 platform into a lower cost OMEGA Arc platform.
It comes with optimized torsional and bending stiffness, which gives better driving dynamics in urban and rough road environments. It indicates that the Tata Harrier can handle a bit of off-roading. Also, it gets a refined and quiet cabin because of the auxiliary isolation panels present alongside the engine’s firewall. Advanced high strength steel is used which is lightweight but is much more powerful.
