Honda Amaze continues to clock a sales figure of more than 9,000 units every month since its launch in May. It ranked as the 10th best-selling car in India for the month of August 2018.
The 2018 Honda Amaze is continuing to clock quite impressive sales numbers for Honda in India since its launch in May. Achieving a monthly sales figure of more than 9,000 units, the Amaze continues to crack the list of 10 best selling cars in India month after month. But why is the current generation of this compact sedan turning out to be this popular?
We tell you the reason why:
Looks matter!
Yes, they do. And with the 2018 iteration of the Amaze, Honda seems to have once again cracked the code for designing a symmetrical compact sedan. A recipe which it had already mastered with the last generation of this vehicle.

The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire had already set the bar very high!
But despite this, Honda designers were able to bring forth a car which does stand shoulder to shoulder with the current segment leader and offers something different in terms of its aesthetics to the buyer.
Other than the looks, what is the second most important reason for this car’s success?
It has to be its premium appeal!
Honda has always been associated with making premium cars. And despite their slight downfall in the recent past, from which the company seems to have learnt quite well, the new Amaze, in some ways, does bring back the ‘Honda Magic’ when it comes to in-cabin experience.

Why do we say that?
Well, be it the materials used, or the NVH levels, or the refined petrol and diesel engines, the cabin of the new Amaze feels like nice play to be in. And surprisingly comfortable too for a car of this size.
And it comes loaded with features and creature comforts right up to the brim!
With the competition offering features such as a touchscreen infotainment system loaded with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, Honda too went quite generous with the Amaze as well. Hence, it also comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, LED daytime running lights, automatic climate control, engine push button start-stop, smart key among the others.
In addition to all this, it is one of the most practical cars currently on sale in its segment!
Honda has been quite vocal about its ‘Man Maximum Machine Minimum’ design philosophy in the recent past. And it shows. Be it the WR-V, the 2017 City and now the Honda Amaze, the cabin feel very ergonomic to use and there aren’t any awkwardly placed switches, knobs or cubby holes.

Furthermore, it offers a refined set of petrol and diesel engines which quite fuels efficiency as well. The 2018 iteration of this car continues with the same set of engines. The petrol derivatives get the 1.2-litre 88 BHP i-VTEC unit, while the diesel ones come with the tried and tested 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit.
And we are happy to report that with the generation update, Honda has refined this oil-burner to quite an extent and it shows!
Other than this, one of the major unique selling points for the Amaze is the availability of a CVT automatic transmission. This for sure offers a smoother two-pedal drivability than the AMT gearbox in the Dzire.
