Maruti Suzuki Nexa has launched the ‘Suzuki Connect’ device for better solutions to the owner. It is priced at Rs 9,999 and is only for the Nexa cars like the Ciaz, Ignis, S-Cross and Baleno. For the Arena cars, it will launch later this year. This device can also be installed by the pre-existing owners of these cars.
Suzuki Connect has been launched for the Nexa cars in India. It is a device which is paired with an app and has to be set up at a Nexa showroom. The device is priced at Rs 9,999 and can be installed by pre-existing Nexa customers too. This telematics control unit is useful for safety purposes of the driver as well as the car. It gets features such as emergency alerts, vehicle tracking, live vehicle status, and preventive maintenance calls. The device exchanges information through a cellular network with a centralised server connected to NEXA customer care. It can be can be configured to send information up to 5 selected users in case of an emergency. The price is inclusive of a three-year subscription to this solution.
The emergency alerts detect an emergency situation in case of deployment of airbags. Then it sends an alert to the user’s family and friends with GPS location and the vehicle details. In Preventive Assistance, in case the system detects a malfunction, the customer care will contact the customer for any assistance needed regarding the vehicle. Vehicle tracking allows the driver/owner to do real-time tracking with live location sharing, tow-away alert, Geofencing and navigation to the parked vehicle.

The driving behaviour analysis helps us to know the driver’s ability based on the driver’s behaviour on the economy, safety and comfort aspects. With live vehicle status, the owners can check their vehicle status like seat belts, the status of AC, fuel level and the odometer value. Lastly, convenience alerts give us low fuel alert, overspeeding alert and more, which can be specified as per our view.

The Suzuki Connect App is available on both Android and iOS platforms. You can check all the above-mentioned information on your mobile phones. You also get to know when is your next servicing due through this app. During an emergency, the details go to the data server and then through the data analytics, alerts are sent to the family and friends. Furthermore, if there is any breakdown or malfunction type situation, the data goes to the customer car who then call you or send someone for personal assistance.
