Homegrown maker, TVS, is going to launch a new 150 cc maxi scooter probably by next year. According to a recent report, it will be based on the Entorq 210 concept, which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. It would get the latest class-leading technology from Entorq, but will not continue with the 210cc engine.
In terms of technology, TVS Ntorq 125 offers the best amongst all the scooters in India. Also, it offers great ride quality with very decent pricing compared to its competitors. Meanwhile, certain reports have come suggesting that TVS is going to launch a new 150 cc maxi scooter in 2019. It will be based on the Entorq 210 scooter, which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new scooter will get top-of-the-line technology like remote keyless entry, phone docking station, Digital information cluster with navigation and notification alert. These features were earlier showcased on the Entorq too. Speculations say that the new scooter will get a newly developed 150cc Fuel Injection engine.

It will borrow most of the equipment from the Ntorq like the switch gears, knobs, bar-end weights and more. Unlike the Ntorq, it will get a sleek maxi-fairing body. Currently, the only scooter to get maxi designing is the upcoming Suzuki Burgman Street. This 150cc scooter will also get a single-channel ABS, because of the norms. This scooter will be globally launched but will first come to the Indian markets. The Entorq got a CVTi transmission along with USD front forks and a rear mono-shock. However, we expect that the new 150 cc maxi scooter will get the same suspension unit observed on the Ntorq 125.
Currently, there are only two scooters having 150cc engines. One is the Aprilia SR 150 and the other is Vespa SXL 150. While the Italian looks much much sporty, the other one looks classy. However, both of them lack some technology bits that the Ntorq, Grazia and the upcoming Burgman have. If you see, the 150 cc scooters are rarely seen on roads. Mainly because people do not want much powerful and high-budgeted scooters. Most of the buyers in the Indian market are happy in the 110cc and 125cc segment. For the buyers, a scooter is just a means of easy and comfortable transport.
