The TVS XL100 Heavy Duty ‘i-Touchstart’ has launched with new features. It is among the few but most selling mopeds in India. Currently, TVS XL100 has three variants in its lineup, and now gets the new features such as Electric Start and a USB charger. The moped is priced at Rs 36,109 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Mopeds are widely used in India, particularly in the rural places. They are mainly used for transporting goods and not passengers. The recent launch of the TVS XL100 Heavy Duty ‘i-Touchstart’ has made it more worthy. The newest addition to TVS’s lineup is built on the Heavy duty moped with extra features on it. The features of the moped include Electric start and a USB charging slot. It will sit on top of the TVS’s moped lineup. The price of the moped is Rs 36,109 (Ex-showroom Delhi), commanding a premium of Rs 2,450 on the Heavy duty version. The other variants of the lineup are XL100 Comfort and XL100. The Comfort and the Standard version of XL100 are priced at Rs 32,909 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The moped sports a 99.7cc 4-stroke engine that produces roughly around 6 BHP and 6.5 Nm worth of torque. It comes with a single-speed gear, making it a gearless moped. In front, it uses Telescopic spring type hydraulic suspension and in the rear, it uses Swing arm with hydraulic shocks suspension. It roughly weighs around 80 Kgs and has a payload of 130 Kgs. It claims a mileage figure of 67 KMPL.
Features of the moped include heavy-duty shock absorbers, metal body, twin seats, Multi-reflector headlamps, and LED DRLs. The split seating is because most of its buyers use the moped for goods transportation. So for that, the split seating is put. It does not feature a disc brake and relies on the drum brakes. TVS XL100 is available in colours such as Red, Silver, Blue, Black, Green and Copper. The new ‘i-Touchsmart’ now features a USB charging slot and electric start too.

Currently, the new moped is available across all dealerships across the country. As such, there is no competition for this moped. However, due to the price range, it competes with Hero Cliq, Bajaj CT 100, TVS Sport and Hero Dawn commuter motorcycles. Most of these bikes are used in rural and semi-urban areas.
