The 2018 MINI comes to India in four different iterations. There is the 3-Door Cooper S, 3-Door Cooper D, 3-Door Cooper S Convertible and the 5-Door Cooper D. Thee cars are all CBUs with prices starting from INR 29.70 Lakh (ex-showroom).
BMW India has today launched the 2018 iteration of the MINI hatchback in India. The latest version of this luxury premium hatchback comes to India in four different versions. One has the choice to choose from the 3-Door Cooper S, the 3-Door Cooper D, the 3-Door Cooper S convertible or the 5-Door Cooper D. All of the models of the MINI are going to retail in India as CBU (Completely Built Units). Prices for the 2018 MINI Cooper S 3-Door starts at INR 29.70 Lakh (ex-showroom).

3-door Cooper D (Diesel) : INR 29,70,000
3-door Cooper S (Petrol) : INR 33,20,000
5-door Cooper D (Diesel) : INR 35,00,000
Convertible Cooper S (Petrol) : INR 37,10,000
With the 2018 update, the MINI comes with minor alterations to its exterior design. In addition to this, this fun-to-drive hatchback also comes with a slightly redesigned interior cabin as well. Furthermore, the automaker has increased the standard equipment of the car. Also, there have been minor technical improvements of the engine and transmissions as well.

The latest iteration of the luxury hatchback comes with restyled LED circular headlamps which are MINI’s characteristic feature. The assembly comes with a new lens design which accommodates complete LED daytime running lights, LED indicators. In addition to this, it also comes with adaptive LED headlamps, cornering lights along with Matrix lights. Furthermore, the rear tail-lamps now glow in the Union Jack Design.
In addition to this, the MINI Excitement Pack features LED interior and ambient lighting which illuminates the cockpit with a choice of 12 selectable colours. It also includes the new MINI logo projection from the exterior mirror on the driver’s side when opening and closing the door.

Furthermore, the circular central instrument panel is surrounded by an LED ring offering a colour display in 6.5-inch and Bluetooth phone/audio connectivity, now as standard. An optional touchscreen is also available in 6.5-inch with MINI Radio Visual Boost that serves as a display for managing functions related to infotainment, telephone, driver and the vehicle. The selection and control is facilitated by a Controller in the centre console.
The optional MINI Wired package offers an 8.8 inch touch screen with Touchpad controller, MINI Find Mate, Navigation System Professional, MINI Connected XL, telephony with wireless charging, 2nd USB interface and a 20 GB internal hard drive for all media storage. Other infotainment options now include Apple CarPlay along with MINI Radio Visual Boost + MINI Navigation or with Wired Package and the 360 watts Harmon Kardon Hi-Fi Speaker System with 12 speakers and an eight-channel digital amplifier.

The newly styled interior includes options such as Leather Chester Malt upholstery coupled with Malt Brown colour line, the surface area of the doors and centre console finished in Piano Black. A completely new option of a backlit interior surface on the passenger side fascia – the MINI Yours Interior Style Piano Black Illuminated – features a stylized Union Jack backlit by colours of the ambient lighting of MINI Excitement Pack.
The new MINI 3-Door Cooper S and the Convertible Cooper S are powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder twin turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces a peak power of 191 BHP along with 280 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes as standard with a 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Automatic Transmission. The engine and transmission duo is capable of sprinting the Cooper S versions from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. While the top speed of these petrol variants is 235km/h.

The MINI 3-Door Cooper D and 5-Door Cooper D come with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, twin-turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is capable of producing a peak power output of 114 BHP in addition to 270 NM of peak torque. Furthermore, the diesel versions also come with the same 7-speed Double Clutch Steptronic Automatic Transmission. These oil-burners can reach a top speed of 205 km/h with a 0 to 100km/h time of just 9.2 seconds.
The new MINI comes with Driving Modes enable an individualised vehicle set-up focusing on ride comfort, sportiness or efficiency, according to driver’s preference. In addition to the standard MID mode, there is a choice of SPORT and GREEN modes. Driver Assistance Systems include Cruise Control, optional Park Assistant, Rear-View Camera and Head-Up Display.
The new MINI is stacked with a host of safety technology. The standard safety equipment comprises front and passenger airbags, Brake Assist, 3-Point Seat Belts, Dynamic Stability Control, Crash Sensor, Anti-lock Braking System, Cornering Brake Control, Run-flat tyres as standard.
The standard MINIMALISM technology includes Auto Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Recuperation, active cooling air flaps and electromechanical power steering.
