Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for the new Swift and the Baleno hatchback. A total of 52,686 units manufactured between December 2017 and March 2018 are affected. Maruti will inspect and replace the faulty part free of cost.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited is going to recall a combined 52,686 units of the 2018 Swift and the Baleno. This recall is going to affect cars which were manufactured between 1st December 2017 and 16th March 2018. The automaker is going to start contacting customers starting 14th May 2018. The recall is issued due to a possible fault in the brake vacuum hose. Maruti will inspect and replace the faulty part free of cost through its vast service centre network.

Though Maruti Suzuki is going to contact the affected parties, one can visit the automaker’s website and check personally if their vehicle falls under this recall or not. For this, they have to simply fill in their vehicle’s 14 digit chassis number. If your car turns out to be affected, one must not worry. You simply have to visit an authorised Maruti Suzuki service station and get your car inspected. Following which, the defected part is going to be replaced free of cost.

This HEARTECT platform from Suzuki has made the Swift 90 kgs lighter than its predecessor. The engine specifications of this hatchback are same as before. Hence, the 2018 Swift promises to offer better fuel economy than the outgoing model. In addition to this, one of the major reason for such a huge demand for the new Swift is its improved feature list. Also, it now comes with an AMT gearbox in both petrol as well as diesel derivatives.

Coming to the Maruti Baleno, this premium hatchback is now almost two years old in India. The demand for it is such that Maruti Suzuki still commands a waiting period of four months for the Baleno. This hatchback offers a premium and bigger alternative to the Swift. At the same time, offering similar levels of comfort, practicality and fuel efficiency. We are expecting Maruti Suzuki to launch the facelift version of the Baleno in India sometime during the first quarter of 2019.
