The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift made its debut in India this year. Prices for the updated iteration of this premium hatchback falls in-between the range of INR 5.45 lakh to INR 8.60 lakh. Being a facelift, the hatchback now comes with a slightly altered exterior design, a few additions to its feature list along with a deletion of some of the features. The engine specifications though, remain the same as before. Here is everything that you need to know about this.

Maruti Baleno Facelift- Exterior Changes
The exterior changes of the Maruti Baleno include a revised bumper. It now comes with vertical housing for the fog-lamps with the air-intake sitting in the middle. Other than this, the car comes with a modified front grille. Also, on the top-end variants, you now get new precision cut alloy wheels which sport a different design in comparison to the older iteration. The rest of the aesthetics of the Baleno remain the same as before. In fact, the hatchback does not get any significant upgrade from its rear end.
Maruti Baleno Facelift- Interior Changes
The overall layout of the interior elements of the Baleno facelift remains the same as before. That said, Maruti has introduced mild revisions to the central instruments along with updating the upholstery. Replacing the all-black interiors, now you get a blue and black colour scheme for the seats. Similar padding can be seen on the door trims as well. Apart from this, the aesthetics remains the same as before.

Maruti Baleno Facelift- Engine Specifications
The petrol derivative of the new Baleno remain the same as before. It will continue to come with the 1.2-litre, K-Series VVT engine.
This motor produces 83 BHP along with 115 Nm of peak torque. Currently, this premium hatchback comes with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Also, petrol derivatives will get a CVT automatic unit.
The diesel derivative of this vehicle, contrary to our expectations will remain the same. it will continue with its 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder BS-IV complain Multi-jet engine sourced from Fiat.
In its current guise, this oil-burner is capable of churning out &4 BHP of power along with 190 Nm of peak torque. It comes as standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
As and when Maruti decided to upgrade its engine portfolio to BS-VI compliance, we expect the automaker to debut its in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Baleno. We expect this engine to produce somewhere around the mark of 90 BHP of power along with 200 Nm of peak torque.

Maruti Baleno Facelift- Mileage
Since the new Baleno is going to get the same petrol engine, it fuel-efficiency figure in the updated avatar will also remain the same. Hence, the petrol derivative of the Baleno is going to give a mileage of around 21.4 km/l.
The current 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine in the Baleno promises to offer a mileage of 27.39 km/l. On the other hand, the new 1.5-litre diesel engine is likely to give a slightly lower mileage of around 26 km/l.

Maruti Baleno Facelift- Dimensions
The Maruti Baleno facelift 2019 will remain the same in terms of its external dimensions since there is not going to be any alterations with the platform of the vehicle. The same will measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,510 mm in height. It will have a wheelbase of 2,520 mm while the ground clearance is going to stand at 170 mm. The boot capacity of this vehicle stands at 330-liters.

The new Maruti Baleno will continue to retail through the existing NEXA dealership outlets. Hence, its variant line-up will remain unchanged. Consequently, it will come in the following variants:
