The Mahindra XUV500 Facelift will come with a number of alterations. Majority of these will be concentrated on the exterior profile of the vehicles. Not only this, the Facelift XUV500 is going to get a new 2.2-litre, 170 BHP engine.
We have informed you in our earlier reports that Mahindra is currently working on a Facelift model of the XUV500 SUV. It is likely that the homegrown automaker is going to launch the 2018 XUV500 in India within the first half of this year. This is confirmed by several test mule sightings of the Facelift model on India roads. Now, according to a report published in Autocar India, the Mahindra XUV500 Facelift will launch in India during the month of April 2018.
With the facelift, the Mahindra XUV500 is going to feature a number of updates. The alterations will be concentrated primarily on the exterior profile of the SUV. The front fascia of the XUV500 is going to feature a heavy revision. The SUV will now come with revised headlamps, bumper and grille.

The XUV500 Facelift will continue to come with LED daytime running lights. That said, the design of the headlamps is likely to get slightly aggressive. Top-end variants will get projector lamps. The side profile is going to remain the same as before. The only major point of difference is going to be the new alloy wheel design. Towards the back, the Mahindra XUV500 Facelift comes with a completely revised tail-gate. This means that the tail-lamps are going to feature a new look as well.

As with all facelifts, the XUV500’s cabin is not going to get a major overhaul. It will remain the same as before in all the major parameters. The basic design of the dashboard and other elements will remain the same. The SUV will get a host of new features as well. Top-spec models could get leather upholstery for the seats, to add a premium touch to the cabin. Apart from this, the SUV will get a new infotainment system.

In the engine department, the Mahindra XUV500 Facelift will get a more powerful engine. This is not an all-together new unit. Instead, it is a reworked version of the existing 2.2-litre oil-burner which is going to produce 170 BHP of power. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be available. As a result of these modifications, the Mahindra XUV500 will have a better chance to compete against its rivals.
Most noteworthy, the prices of the XUV500 are going to remain the same as before. The base variant will cost around the mark of INR 12.5 Lakh. The top-spec version will retail at INR 18.9 Lakh. These prices are ex-showroom.
