The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X variants are going to launch in India on the 28th of February. Ahead of this much-anticipated debut, the brochure of this bike is leaked online.
Royal Enfield is all set to launch its Thunderbird X series in India on the 28th February. The Thunderbird range is the most feature-rich motorcycle in RE portfolio in India. The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X will get the same engine specifications as the standard Thunderbird range. That said, RE has done a number of modifications to give these bikes their own unique identity. The brochure of the Thunderbird X series was leaked online recently, revealing all the specifications of this bike.
The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X gets a new wider handlebar, in comparison to the standard Thunderbird. The new X range comes with a new seat design which blends perfectly with the new grabrails. The bike gets black alloy wheels and the engine gets a black colour scheme instead of Silver. The exhaust and the suspension get a similar treatment. The headlamp and the tail-lamp, on the other hand, assembly get the same units as the standard Thunderbird. They feature LED daytime running lights along with LED tail-lamps.

The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird gets the same power unit as the standard bike. The 500X is going to get a 499cc single cylinder engine. This engine is capable of churning out 27.2 BHP along with 41.3 NM of peak torque. The 350X, on the other hand, will feature a 346cc single cylinder engine. This motor is capable of churning out 19.8 BHP along with 28 NM of peak torque. Both the front and rear wheels will get disk brakes. That said, the bikes will not feature ABS.

As leaked in the brochure, the Thunderbird X will come in four different colours. These include Whimsical White, Drifter Blue, Gateway Orange and Roving Red. It further reveals that the Thunderbird X variants are the first in Royal Enfield’s portfolio to feature a dual-tone paint scheme.
The 2018 Royal Enfield Thunderbird X is likely to cost INR 5,000 to 7,000 premium of the standard Thunderbird. That said, given the amount of add-on feature that it gets, it is a justifiable jump. Royal Enfield is looking to attract young buyers with the Thunderbird X range. Hence the use of vibrant colours along with dual-tone paint scheme.
