Tata Motors, the popular Indian passenger and commercial vehicles manufacturer, has revealed that will put on display a performance variant of the Tigor notchback at theAuto Expo 2018. This revelation comes from a teaser image issued by the company. The Tata Tigor Sport is likely to make its debut alongside the Tiago Sport. While the teaser image shows only a small portion of the upcoming car’s front-end, it’s clear that the performance-tuned Tigor would sport an updated styling package. As can be seen in the image, the Tigor Sport gets an updated bumper with a new foglamp housing that has been painted in a shade of red.

It is being said that the Tata Tiago Sport will feature ‘JTP’ branding. This will be a result of the partnership between Tata Motors and Jayem Auto. It may be noted here that Jayem has been responsible for all the development work for the Tigor’s sportier version. Currently, there is no information regarding the launch date of the performance-oriented versions of the Tiago and the Tigor.

The engine of the Tigor Sport model will come from the Nexon petrol. This engine outputs a max. power of 110 PS along with a peak torque of 170 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The car will also have a lowered suspension. The revised suspension will feature stiffer springs in the interest of sportier handling characteristics. In all probability, the wheel size will remain the same.
Tata Tigor Sport Exterior and Interior
As the teaser image shows, the Tigor Sport will come with a revised bumper that will feature large red-coloured foglamp housings. In all probability, the bumper will also feature a larger airdam and an integrated splitter. Also, there are good chances that the Tata Tigor Sport would feature side skirts, bigger alloy wheels, and a body kit to announce the higher performance credentials. The interior will also get a set of changes. The upholstery will be new and the dashboard will get a new trim. We are also expecting new floor mats and door sills. The updates to the interior will complement the sportier exterior.
