10,000 Tata Tigor Electric cars are soon to reach the Government’s stable as part of EESL’s plan to electrify the current petrol and the diesel run fleet of Government cars. Launch for private buyers likely to happen around the second half of 2018.
Tata Tigor Electric is soon going to become an essential part of government’s fleet of cars to be used by senior officials. Tata Motors is currently working on a contract to supply 10,000 electric Tigor’s to state-run EESL in a move to revamp the current petrol and the diesel run fleet of government vehicles. Coming to the car itself, the Tigor Electric uses a 30Kw electric motor instead of the Revotron and Revotorq engines. For now, Tata Motors is not manufacturing the Tigor Electric for private use. However, the launch for the same is expected to happen sometime around the second half of 2019.
