Volkswagen, from the day when it entered the Indian Auto Sector has gained appreciation and nothing else and along with all this the brand also bagged a few celebrations globally which need to be considered including Volkswagen Polo being awarded the World Car Of The Year 2010.
Volkswagen Jetta and Volkswagen Passat ever since after rolling into the Indian Automobile Market have done wonders for the brand and now with so much of success and content coming its way, the company has taken another decision and that is to launch a sedan based on the platform of Polo and will be known as Volkswagen Vento.
The car is similar to the Polo and the only difference is the cosmetic transformation carried out to convert it into a sedan from a hatchback, on a cosmetic level, its similar kind of difference what you see in Maruti Swift Dzire Sedan and Maruti Swift Hatchback.
Volkswagen Vento Specifications And Features
Volkswagen Vento Design and Dimensions
If deign is to be considered the car as mentioned above, very much resembles to Polo, on whose platform it is based and is indistinguishable upto the B-pillar. Dimensionally it is better than Polo as it is roughly 50mm longer than latter and the headroom as well will not disappoint one since it is differently designed in order to make the passenger feel of being in a sedan rather than in a hatchback.
The boot space is expected to carry 500 litres with an on-demand split seat option and the equipments seen inside the car will come from the Polo. As speculated the car’s top end model could possibly sport few features derived from Jetta.
Volkswagen Vento Engine
Initially the brand plans to introduce the car with two options – one being a 1.6 Litre MPFI petrol and the other a 1.6 Litre CRDI diesel and both these will develop a maximum power of 105BHP.Talking in terms of torque, the petrol engine will generate 15.8kgm while the diesel will develop a mind boggling 25.5kgm. The petrol variant is naturally aspirated as seen in Jetta but is advanced in a way.
Volkswagen Vento Transmission
Both the variants initially will couple their drive-trains with a 5-Speed manual transmission gearbox and possibility of the top end diesel model to come with a DSG(Direct Shift Gearbox) gearbox later, is there.
