2018 Volvo XC60 Comes to India via CBU route. Initial buyers to get optional ‘Tech-Pack’ as standard.
Volvo launched the all-new XC60 in the capital earlier today. The new 2018 Volvo XC60 5-seater SUV from the Swedish automaker features various segment first features along with the fit and finish Volvo is famous for. Following the trend, the safety features on board present the highest standards amongst the segment as well as the entire automotive sector. Volvo claims that no passenger in a Volvo vehicle will die or get seriously injured post-2020 and has been enhancing their active and passive safety features accordingly.
2018 Volvo XC60 – Exterior Design and Features
The latest iteration of the Volvo XC60 looks great from almost any angle. Yes, the muscular butch features the earlier generation held have been replaced by more conventional design aiding the aerodynamics. Afterall when was the last time you saw a box attempting to break the world speed record? The inscription grille with adequate chrome inserts looks premium. The Thor hammer-shaped DRLwithh LED lamps on top and bottom to adorn the headlight unit. The side appears longer and the ‘Inscription’ branding can be noticed on the running plate.
Hiding in the body coloured door handles is the puddle light, illuminating the way for the passengers. The fog lamps stay neatly hidden under the front bumper spoiler. The roof rails come integrated and offer both visual as well as technical support. The customers get a choice of four exterior colors namely – Crystal White Pearl, Onyx Black Metallic, Maple Brown Metallic and Pine Grey Metallic. The 2018 Volvo XC60 ridws in 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 comes loaded with equipments on the interior as well. The fit and finish of materials surpasses to that of the competetion and the colours available for seat upholstery are just delicious. These include Amber, Maroon brown and Blond colours. The ‘Tech-Pack’ offers front venitaled seats with massage function which is available as standard for the initial buyers and will be optional post introductory offer.

2018 Volvo XC60 – Drivetrain and Dimensions
Under the hood of the 2018 Volvo XC60 is a 1969cc 4-cylinder engine that churns out 235 hp of power and 480 Nm of torque. The twin-turboharged engine copes with turbo lag with a small tank next to the engine that collects compressed air which is then pushed into the engine until the turbochargers spool up and take charge. This eliminates the lag completely and the driver enjoys instant response as soon as they push the pedal. The engine comes mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox for added effciency. The all-wheel drive system comes in as standard equipment.
The 2018 Volvo XC60 holds a length, with and height of 4,688mm, 2,117mm and 1,658mm respectively. The wheelbase on offer extends to 2,865mm with the Volvo XC60 sitting 223mm above the ground. The fuel tank holds 71 liters propelling the SUV to a range of approx 800kms. The XC60 comes loaded with air suspension on all corners which is available as standard as a part of the ‘Tech-Pack’ for the inital customers.

The Swedish automaker was the first one to intorduce the three-point seatbelt and allowed the rest of the automakers to use it for free. The 2018 Volvo XC60 is priced at INR 55.9 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Equally loaded variants of its competitors, namely, the Mercedes GLC, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Jaguar F-Pace and Land Rover Discover Sport almost all cost more while, missing out on most of the active safety features available on the XC60.
