2018 Renaut Sandero India Launch Likely. Will compete with the likes of Ford Figo and Maruti Swift upon launch.
The French carmaker, Renault recently filed for a product patent for the Sandero hatchback in India. The 2018 Renault Sandero India launch might take place in 2019. The company revealed its plan to launch a brand new vehicle each year. This year was the Captur and the new Duster and an MPV is slated for launch next year. Besides the hatchback, Renault also patented the Logan sedan and Logan MCV. Globally, the Sandero is sold under the Renault and Dacia brands and same was patented in India. Since the latter is not available in India yet, we assume the upcoming hatchback will be sold under the brand Renault itself.

Renault has merely patented the Sandero in India and companies do this on a regular basis even if they don’t intend to launch the vehicle in the nation. A similar case was seen this year wherein Honda Two Wheelers India patented the CRF 300X in India but the official denied any plans to launch it here. As per speculations available on the net, 2018 Renault Sandero India launch might take place by 2019. The B-segment hatchback will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo upon launch.
The success of the 2018 Renault Sandero depends on specifically the price which the company intends to keep in check by sharing various parts across platforms. 2018 Renault Sandero Specifications
The African spec model of the 2018 Renault Sandero comes equipped with the 898cc multipoint injection engine producing 88 bhp of power and 135 Nm of torque. However, if launched, the Indian spec model will derive its power from the 1.2-litre engine churning out 75bhp of power and 104Nm of torque, currently doing its duty in the Renault Pulse.

The international model of the 2018 Renault Sandero measures 4,058 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width and 1,518 mm in height. The hatchback holds a wheelbase of 2,589 mm while the boot holds 320-litres of luggage space. We believe that Renault will develop the Sandero for the Indian market while making certain necessary changes like decreasing the length of the vehicle to under-4 meters.
