First Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle launch could happen in 2021. Fresh details of this partnership emerge online
Motorcycle aficionados would already know about the Bajaj Auto Ltd–Triumph partnership that was announced earlier this year. Under this tie-up, both the companies would be seen coming up with a range of middleweight (up to 500cc) motorcycles for growing markets like that of India. This non-equity partnership will see both the manufacturers leveraging each other’s strengths to develop and sell world-class products at attractive price points. In the latest development, it has come to light that the first Bajaj Triumph motorcycle launch would happen in early-2021.
Speaking of this partnership at EICMA, 2017, Paul Stroud, Triumph Director of sales and marketing, said-
“The partnership is developing very well. As business partners we have signed heads of terms. We anticipate to finalise it (commercial agreement) early next year.”

Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle Launch Date
The first Bajaj Triumph motorcycle launch is still a few years away from us. The two companies are currently finalizing the finer terms and conditions. However, speaking to the media at the EICMA, Stroud revealed that the first motorcycle will launch in early 2021. He said-
“We are expecting to be launching first products in markets like in early 2021.”
While the upcoming motorcycle would go on sale under the Triumph badge, it will be produced by Bajaj at its Chakan facility near Pune.
Bajaj Triumph Motorcycle – What to Expect?
It has already been said that the aim of the partnership is to “deliver a range of outstanding mid-capacity motorcycles benefitting from the collective strengths of both companies”. The upcoming Bajaj Triumph motorcycle will launch with a Triumph badge but will have a sub-500cc engine. It will be the first time that the British two-wheeler company will launch a product in the sub-500cc segment of emerging markets like that of India. The partnership will help Triumph infiltrate growing markets across the globe. This would, in turn, help the company expand its global reach by entering higher volume segments.
On the other hand, Bajaj will benefit from the expertise that the British company enjoys with producing high capacity models. It’s noteworthy here that this isn’t the first time that a popular Indian two-wheeler company has joined hands with a renowned European motorcycle manufacturer. South India-based TVS Motor Company has been in a partnership with BMW-Motorrad to co-develop world class low displacement motorcycles. The BMW G 310R is a result of this partnership. Bajaj and Triumph could have a similar arrangement, where the latter could use engineering and mass production facilities of the former.
