Tata Nano, the cheapest car in the world may soon come out with a Diesel Engine variant of its small car as announced earlier by Tata at the Auto Expo. The timeline for the launch has not been officially announced as yet, but it can be expected soon. Maybe by the end of the year 2010 or early 2011 the Tata Nano Diesel will start selling.
Tata Nano Diesel Specifications
Tata Nano Diesel will have a CRDI diesel engine from Bosch. The detailed specifications have not been announced as yet, but it is expected to be around 0.75 Litre Engine with a maximum power output of about 30BHP. I will update this section with detailed specifications as they are officially announced.
There are rumors of Tata Nano Diesel already being road-tested by Tata, so it may come to showrooms sooner than expected. An Electric Variant, Tata Nano EV has already been announced by Tata at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
Tata Nano Diesel On Road Price In India
Tata Nano Diesel will have an advanced CRDI diesel engine which will be BS4 compliant. The cost of the base model of Tata Nano Diesel Ex-Showroom is Expected to be upward of Rs. 1.5 Lakh Rupees. On road price of Tata Nano Diesel will be around Rs. 1.65 Lakhs or more depending on the state you live in. This is an expected price range.
This is no surprise amongst increasing car prices that Tata Nano will not be a Rs. 1 Lakh car forever. Sometime back there was a news on the Tata Nano petrol price hike by about Rs. 30000 for second round of Tata Nano bookings. There is surely lot going on from Tata with Tata Dolphin in the making and new variants of Tata Indica Vista coming out frequently.
