While Honda Cars India is likely to showcase the 2018 Jazz facelift at the fast approaching Auto Expo 2018, it has far from given up on the pre-facelift model. Having readied the car for the high demand for new vehicles during the upcoming festive seasons, the company has come up with the new Honda Jazz Privilege Edition. The latest special edition of the Jazz brings along a handful of new features that make the car slightly more lucrative option for B2-segment hatchback buyers. The new Honda Jazz Privilege Special Edition is based on the high-spec V-trim. It is available with both Petrol and Diesel engines. While the Petrol engine offers a 5-speed Manual Transmission and a CVT auto, the Diesel engine offers a 6-speed Manual Transmission only. Compared to the regular V-grade, the new limited edition is just Rs 5,000 costlier. However, for this small price premium, it offers a lot many additional features, thereby making the car an excellent value-for-money option.

The latest special edition of the Jazz doesn’t come with any significant styling update. The only tell-tale sign of the new car being different from the regular models is the ‘Privilege Edition’ badge on the boot-lid. The features list gets some significant features thou. For starters, the new version gets rear parking sensors and the much publicised 17.7 cam infotainment system. This modern unit supports audio, video and navigation and offers a touchscreen interface. The interior gets new beige seat covers and beige floor mats.
More importantly, the new car comes with Honda Connect and Rear Parking Sensors. The Honda Connect offers convenience through Online Service Booking facility and other related notifications. You also get features like a manual SOS alarm, location sharing, and fuel station locater along with Insurance and PUC renewal reminders, Document Wallet, Fuel Log records with fuel mileage figures. Also, this app enhances security by offering Impact Alert feature by instantly establishing a connection with HCIL’s 24X7 call center. You also get a Locate My Car feature enabling to locate the car.

There is no change in the specifications of the car. Akin to the regular models, the new Honda Jazz Privilege Special Edition is available with two engine options – 1.2-litre Petrol and 1.5-litre Diesel. While the petrol engine has a maximum power of 90 PS, the Diesel engine offers 100 PS. The torque outputs of the Petrol and Diesel engines are 110 Nm and 200 Nm respectively. While the former offers two transmission options – 5-speed Manual and CVT, the latter comes mated to a 6-speed Manual transmission only.

As the specs remain exactly the same, there’s no change even in the mileage figures of the car. Just like the regular models, the new Privilege Edition offers an ARAI-tested mileage of 18.7 KMPL for the MT variant of petrol, 19 KMPL for the CVT model, and 27.3 KMPL for the Diesel version. This makes the Diesel Jazz one of the best mileage cars in India.

As there is no change in the design, even the dimensions remain the same. The Jazz is a sub-4 metre hatchback that offers a really airy interior due to its tall-boy structure.
