Skoda is much in news and probably will remain for its new cheap Skoda Fabia based sedan, Skoda Lauretta. The details of the same car are yet to be revealed but this new news is as interesting as the new car itself. The company has released some pictures of a new concept car named as Skoda MissionL Concept and it is said to be the same where the Lauretta’s design cues will be derived from.
According to Skoda’s official press release the car will be showcased at the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show. The MissionL Concept is a production ready concept car and reveals the new design language to be seen in the upcoming models. Earlier Skoda had showcased a design concept called as Skoda Vision D and these leaked pictures of the MissionL Concept are much in resemblance with the former.

So Lauretta, the India based sedan will be similar to these concepts but with specific changes to suit our region. The car will be positioned between the Skoda Fabia and Skoda Laura. Besides India, the car will also be launched in the Russian, European and Chinese markets respectively. For the Russian and European markets the car will be sold as a five door hatchback/small car whereas for India, it will be a five door sedan.

The overall appearance of the car is quite masculine, alike all the other Skodas. The body lines add a very sharp and masculine tone to the car which is enhanced by the edgy head and tail lamps. The side and rear profile hints that it is quite close to Vento. Similarly it is also expected that under the hood of the car it will equip the same 1.6 Litre CRDI diesel and MPFi petrol engines which power the Vento.
Since it is to be placed below the Laura, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 7 and Rs. 10 Lakh.
