In a rather surprising turn of events, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has come up with an all-new model based on its Navi scooterette . Christened as the Cliq, this new model was launched in two variants yesterday. The new Honda Cliq has a starting price of ₹ 42,499 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Thanks to a really aggressive price tag, the Cliq becomes one the of the most affordable automatic two-wheelers on sale today. It gets the same engine as the Navi, which means even the specifications and the mileage remain largely unchanged. The Honda Cliq scooter has gone on sale with many optional accessories and will try to build on the Navi’s popularity amongst young bike buyers.

The Cliq looks really stylish and comes with many features. These include bits like underseat USB charging and tubeless tires. Most importantly, the Cliq scooter is available with Honda’s Combi-brake system. This system applies brakes to both wheels even if you press just one brake lever. This ensures there’s no loss of control. It also helps in optimum distribution of brake forces and hence, an improved overall braking.
The new 2017 Honda Cliq scooter gets the same 109cc engine that also powers the Activa. This engine pumps out a max. power of 8 BHP and a peak torque of 9 Nm. It comes paired to a CVT. The new Honda Cliq has gone on sale in four colours – Red, Black, Blue and Grey. The several optional accessories available for the Cliq can help you make your scooter stand out. Also, some of the accessories, like a flat screen and a storage box, make the new Honda Cliq 110 scooter more practical.

Honda Cliq Review – Design
While the new Cliq 110 Scooter is based on the Navi, it doesn’t look much like the donor model. In fact, the Cliq looks nothing like anything out on the roads. Thanks to its unique styling, it gets really easy for this automatic scooter to stand out. The Cliq’s lightweight, along with the trendy design, goes on to make it a really good option for those who have just learnt to ride and are looking for a convenient automatic scooter for intra-city use. Overall, this automatic scooter from Honda looks quite rugged and has a catchy look. The large under-seat storage further improves the practicality of this scooter.
Speaking at the launch, HMSI president and CEO Minoru Kato said, “Scooters now account for almost half of the 100-110cc two-wheelers sold in India. The segment is poised for sub-segmentation.” Yadvinder Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI said, “The Cliq is focussed on up-country customers. Only Honda could challenge traditional preferences by bringing this kind of disruption in the 100-110cc segment.”
