Formula One India Grand Prix is the biggest thing ever happened to the Indian motorsport industry and alike every other track in the world, our race track was only under extreme supervision of one of the finest person from FIA. Charlie Whiting who is the race director of FIA and is also the safety delegate and head of the F1 Technical Department was monitoring all the activities concerned with the Buddh International Circuit, the official race track for Formula One, and finally after a long wait the very gentleman has certified the track.
Now FIA has given a green signal to the inauguration of the Formula One Airtel Indian Grand Prix and us scheduled to be held between 28-30 October 2011. Yesterday Mr. Whiting was here in India to review the track, the safety measures and the overall infrastructure of the new track. The Inspection was carried out by this FIA delegate and he declared the track to be safe for spectators as well as the race drivers.
As per the Homologation norms set by FIA itself, a new track is to be inspected and certified 90 days in advance of the scheduled date but this time Whiting, overturning his own rule, completed the homologation a well 2 months ahead of the official inauguration.
The FIA has set a list of rules which every race track across the globe has to stick to and some of the most important of the rules include, ample parking space for spectators and team trailers, special hospitality features for the venue and a number of other things. The tickets are already on sale and now that the track gets a clear go, we hope to see an increase in the sales of tickets
